FAQs

  • Have you ever been working on a project and wished there was someone who could come along side you, someone who knew your piece almost as well as you did and could discuss it with you, brainstorm solutions to your problems, offer suggestions, or just lend an ear for you to bounce ideas off of? A book coach does that!

Have you ever wondered okay so I wrote a book, now what? Do I just send it in? Should I get it copyrighted first? Will anyone even be willing to read it? Who can help me with all these questions? A book coach does that!

Ever wished someone could save you from writing all those ‘ugly’ first drafts that go nowhere and ultimately just waste your time? A book coach does that too!

I can help you develop your idea from a little tiny seed into a seedling strong enough to grow—with lots of love and hard work—into a big tree.

I can help you stay on track, meet your goals and write the best book that is inside of you.

I can help you navigate the publishing world, improving your chances of landing an agent by helping you present your work like a professional.

  • I guarantee you I can help you to write the best book that is inside of you. I guarantee I won’t try to make this book into something you don’t want it to be. I guarantee you I will always be honest with you.

I can’t guarantee book sales. Or landing an agent. Unfortunately, I can’t guarantee that this will be easy, or that the work will even be completed. That is up to you! But I can guarantee that writing together is easier/better than writing separately and I’ll be there every step of the way.

  • Everything we discuss in our meetings is confidential, whether you are concerned about your work being stolen or because your work addresses difficult subject matter, no need to fear. Those are your words not mine. It’s your story to tell, not mine. And it’s all right there in the contract: I will not steal your work nor discuss your ideas or experience outside of our meetings.

  • I have been certified by the Author Accelerator Book Coaching program. It is an extensive training program led by Jennie Nash, book coach extraordinaire. It specializes in teaching others to become book coaches on level with the best the business has to offer. I am proud of the work we do in bringing others’ stories to life.

  • Contact Me Now! You can contact me at any point in the process. I have a variety of packages that will walk you through the process of outlining and gearing up for writing your first draft including going over things like the plot, characters, timeline, audience, genre designation, etc.

If you’ve already completed a first, second, or fortieth draft that is great too! I can help you hone that draft, search for plot holes, trim excess to improve pacing, develop characters, etc.

Reach out now and I will send you a questionnaire and welcome letter with next steps so that you know where we go from here.

  • This is your story. You are the one in charge. I am here to help you along the way. You can bounce ideas off of me and we can discuss why those might or might not work and how to make them work. I can also give you ideas and things to consider but the decision is always yours as to whether you will use an idea I have offered up as a possibility.

  • I like to be very clear from the start, that I can’t guarantee that you will ever be published, only that we will put your best book out into the world.

There are so many things to consider when it comes to publishing. For example, are you determined to publish traditionally or open to self or hybrid styles? How much time, money, and energy do you have to invest in this project? (We’ll have to get really honest here about other commitments in your life. Work. Family. Friends.)

I will help you to set and meet realistic goals based on a timeline that we develop together. A timeline that you are able to work with and may have to be adjusted as we go.

  • I can’t guarantee book sales or how much any book will make. Often the market does unexpected things and there are so many moving parts when it comes to book sales and publishing. For example, how did you publish and how much of your own money did you invest? How was your book received by the market? How was your book priced and who published it for you?

  • From our very first call to our very last I will always leave you with next steps so you are never lost as to what steps to take next. Our calls are recorded (unless you request them to not be) and I send a summary letter after every call so you don’t have to spend our time together furiously scribbling notes and you have a resource to guide your writing sessions.
